Transitional Year Internship Program
Thank you for your interest in the Transitional Year Residency Program at Garnet Health Medical Center. Our residency was established in 2015 and we offer 12 highly competitive PGY-1 positions per year. We are sponsored by our institution’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. In 2022, we achieved Continued Accreditation through the ACGME.
- We offer a unique training environment that seeks to establish a strong clinical foundation with the opportunity to personalize your training with ample elective time. We pride ourselves on finding the right balance of core education and the opportunity to broaden your exposure.
- Over the past few years, we have had residents who went on to train in PM&R, Radiation-Oncology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Interventional Radiology, and Diagnostic Radiology in highly competitive institutions across the country. We take tremendous pride in having confidently trained our former Transitional Year residents towards preparing for their future training.
- Whichever specialty you eventually pursue, your Transitional Year training at Garnet Health Medical Center will foster the development of clinical knowledge, professional skills, compassionate behavior, and a caring attitude
