Urgent Care

At Orange Regional Medical Group, we are proud to introduce our Urgent Care services, currently located in Middletown and Monroe, NY. Led by Dr. Rona Heublum-Colton, Urgent Care Medical Director, and Board-certified in urgent care and internal medicine, and team of experts, we are offering fast, comprehensive and professional health care to our patients in need of immediate medical attention.

When to Choose Urgent Care

Our Urgent Care center is set up to assist our patients with various injuries or illnesses that, though not life-threatening, require immediate professional medical attention.

Some symptoms and conditions in which you may consider our urgent care services include, but are not limited to:

  • Minor injuries such as sprains, broken fingers or toe
  • Mild to moderate vomiting, diarrhea or dehydration
  • Minor lacerations or cuts
  • Allergic reactions or seasonal allergies
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)
  • Eye irritation and redness
  • Insect bites
  • Nose bleeds
  • Severe sore throat or cough
  • Skin rashes and infections
  • A fever not higher than 104 degrees
  • Mild to moderate asthma

These issues could also be addressed by your primary care provider if you are willing to wait for an appointment; however, in situations where your Primary Care physician’s office is closed or simply does not have preferred available appointments, that’s where our Urgent Care is there for you.

No appointment needed, just “walk in”! Though, there may still be some wait to be seen – unlike the emergency room, we are not treating life-threatening conditions and are better able to prioritize the treatment of our patients based upon the time of their arrival.

Still unsure where you should go to receive the most appropriate care for your needs?

What should be considered an Emergency?

When faced with sudden medical problems that necessitate immediate care, it can often be difficult to decipher what warrants a trip to the emergency room. In many cases, urgent care can be an appropriate solution to your medical needs, but please note that Urgent Care is not a substitute for emergency care. If your or a loved one’s condition can permanently impair or endanger life, please call 911 and/or go to the Emergency Department immediately.

Go to the Emergency Department (call 911) if you or a loved one:

  • May be having a heart attack, stroke or seizure, or experience sudden loss of vision
  • May be having a miscarriage
  • Have experienced major injuries or wounds
  • Has been involved in a high speed motor vehicle accident
  • Has fallen from greater than 5 feet
  • Are coughing up or vomiting blood
  • Have severe abdominal pain or extreme vomiting
  • Have severe shortness of breath or a severe asthma attack
  • Are in Diabetic ketoacidosis
  • Have sustained a significant head injury
  • Have sustained a back injury and now cannot walk
  • Have loss of bowel/bladder function
  • Are experiencing suicidal or homicidal feelings

Proper care for these conditions and more will be provided at our Emergency Department. If you are experiencing a more mild or moderate injury or illness, please consider our urgent care services - as they will not only likely save you time in the waiting room and money, but will allow our Emergency Department staff to focus on saving lives from life-threatening conditions occurring in our community.
