Breast Ultrasound
Our digital ultrasound equipment uses specific software for specialized breast ultrasound and all tests are performed in the comfort of the Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center at the Orange Regional Medical Pavilion.
Breast MRI and Breast MRI Biopsy
Breast MRI and breast MRI biopsies are performed on our high-field Open Bore MRI located adjacent to the Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center. Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) technology supports MRI imaging to provide the most accurate diagnosis for breast cancer.
Digital Mammography
Our state-of-the-art, full-field digital mammography uses revolutionary imaging technology to provide incredibly sharp images, faster testing and lower radiation exposure. The crystal-clear digital images are reviewed by fellowship-trained, board-certified radiologists specializing in breast imaging. To assist the radiologist in making an even more accurate diagnosis, Orange Regional Medical Center uses Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) to provide a "second read" of the mammogram by a computer. Digital mammography services at Orange Regional meet quality standards for equipment, personnel and practices according to the Mammography Quality Standards Act guidelines.
Stereotactic and Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy
The stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy systems at Orange Regional Medical Center assist in the diagnosis of early-stage cancer. These innovative systems can actually eliminate the need for surgical biopsies - using minimally invasive techniques that usually require a single insertion and cause minimal injury to the surrounding healthy tissue. The procedure calls for a local anesthetic and can be performed on an outpatient basis.
Bone Density Evaluation
Bone density measurement is a safe, non-invasive and painless test which can play an important role in the early diagnosis of osteoporosis. Bone densitometry accurately measures the density of the spine, hip and other bones that are the most frequent fracture sites associated with osteoporosis. In minutes, physicians can get an accurate measurement of your bone density - often early enough in the disease to make a real difference in treatment and outcome.
